Passed My MCPD Web Exams Today

Today I passed the exam 70-528, part of the MCPD training.

Beides passing this one today, I also passed 70-547 yesterday and 70-536 (MCTS) last Thursday. MCPD in four days. Not bad ..... ;-)

I signed up for the training in January 2007, thinking I could do the exams before starting on my ASP.NET 3.5 book. However, training material didn't arrive until April of that year which was at the time I just started writing. So, I postponed learning to January this year. But once you start postponing, it's easy to postpone a little more.

My exam coupons were valid until October this year, so the dead-line was closing in on me. So, finally, about a month and a half ago I started going through the study material. Most of it was quite familiar as I have been working with ASP.NET for around 8 years or so. However, I soon discovered there were a lot of trick questions in the material and practice exams, like "what are the valid key sizes for the RijndaelManaged Encryption class" (answer can be found here).

So, after a lot of studying, I decided to sign up for the exams. I decided, due to time constraints, to do all of them in a week, thinking that would be the fastest path to getting them all done. Fortunately, things worked out as planned, with the MCPD status as the result.

No book to write, no exams to pass..... I wonder what to do next....
