Not Much Happening Here Lately

Things have been quiet around here for a while; It's been more than three weeks now since I published my last article. But I have good reasons.....

I recently started a new job, so that is consuming a lot of my time.

Also, last week my new desktop machine arrived. It's an AMD Athlon 64 and has a Nvidia GeForce 6800 GT Pro to play Doom 3 of course... ;-) I haven't had the chance to play it much, but from what I have seen so far, I really like it. It has beautiful graphics, and a real scary, hellish atmosphere. As the back cover of the CD says: "It's not recommended for the cowardly or the faint of heart. However, for those who dare to face Doom 3 as it was intended; Lock your door. Turn off the lights. And turn up your sound." Yeah, game on, dude ;-)

My "old" workstation will replace my really old web server. This means I'll have to migrate a couple of Web sites, including Imar.Spaanjaars.com over the next few days or weeks. So at the moment, I am spending a lot of time reinstalling OS's and SQL Server and trying to figure out the best way to move sites without breaking anything vital in the process. Not the most exciting IT job around, but a necessity anyhow.

Soon as the migration is ready, I'll pick up writing articles again. Really, I promise.... ;-)

In the mean time, if you have a question or a suggestion for an article related to ASP, .NET, (X)HTML, CSS, JavaScript or any other "web development" topic, feel free to contact me.

The Talk Back feature is not meant for technical questions that are not directly related to this article. So, a post like "Hey, can you tell me how I can upload files to a MySQL database in PHP?" is likely to be removed. Also spam and unrealistic job offers will be deleted immediately.

When you post a comment, you have to provide your name and the comment. Your e-mail address is optional and you only need to provide it if you want me to contact you. It will not be displayed along with your comment. I got sick and tired of the comment spam I was receiving, so I have protected this page with a simple calculation exercise.
